Interactive Notebooks
In an effort to add cohesion to Spanish IA (7th) and Spanish IB (8th), the interactive notebook has been introduced as a tool to keep students engaged and motivated to study. It contains vocabulary, grammar, notes, classroom activities, and cultural explorations in a format that students will be able to take with them as they progress through Spanish in middle school and should be an instrument of good review for high school. I (Srta. Eme) have done a lot of research on this method to see if it would be beneficial to not only content but engagement, and I feel that it will cut down on student confusion, streamline grading, and provide them with a nice, final product to show their work over two years.
Supplies Required for the Interactive Notebook
- Composition notebook (no spirals; sewn notebooks will last longer & harden the notion of final product)
- Glue sticks / tape (students can have either or both - they will be used to put assignments in the book)
- Colored pencils / pens / markers (students may have one or all of these to complete assignments)
- Highlighters
- Scissors (if working at home - I provide these at school)
